Any Skill Level
Whether you’re a beginner just getting started or a seasoned player looking to brush up on effects, this course is for you
There are no requirements for this course. Examples are given for each type of effect so you don’t need to own any pedals or effects software to be able to learn from this course.
If you do already have stompboxes, a multi-effects unit or software such as AmpliTube, BIAS FX or Guitar Rig, you will be able to follow along and experiment with effects used in the course.
By the end of Part 1, you will have a really strong understanding of all the different types of effects. You will also get a feel for what types of effects you like and might want to include in your rig. Future parts of the course will build on all of this and help you craft your own unique tones, analyze other guitar tones and get more out of your gear.
Part 2 teaches you the fundamentals of setting up a wide range of tones. Even if you don’t have any effects pedals now, you will be able to use this part to dial in some great tones and get more out of your amp.
Even if you don’t have any pedals or gear yet, you can still learn a lot from this course.
Why should I take this course?
As a guitar teacher, I often see new students come in because they’re frustrated with their tone. They bring in their expensive amps and pedalboards they’ve been upgrading over and over and they ask me to help them find the problem and ‘fix’ their tone. Even advanced students would come to me and struggle to dial in a tone they were happy with.
If you’ve ever bought a new pedal and just couldn’t get the same sounds out of it that you heard on a demo video, you’re not alone. While there are countless guitar tutorials and lessons online, there are very few that cover tone and effects properly.
For example, there is is a $1,229 online course at Berklee on guitar effects and tone. When I researched what the course covered, I was disappointed by how basic it was and how it completely missed a lot of important topics or glossed over important areas.
I created this course to give guitarists a better learning resource without the insane price tag. My goal is to cover significantly more than the Berklee course at a small fraction of the cost. This course already covers most of what is taught in the Berklee course without costing a small fortune.
How is Payment Processed?
There are two ways you can purchase this course.
The first option is with PayPal. You can choose any payment method with your PayPal account or your credit/debit card if you don’t have a PayPal account. Purchase the course using PayPal here.
If you don’t want to use PayPal, the second option is to use your Credit or Debit Card via Stripe to purchase the course here.
Whichever method you choose, your payment details are processed by Stripe or PayPal’s secure checkout systems and are not given to Guitar Gear Finder.
What does the course cover?
Part 1 introduces you to all the main types of guitar effects you’re likely to use.
You will find out how each type of effect works because understanding how an effect is created makes it easier to know how to control that effect.
You will hear examples of each effect and how changing each effect’s settings changes the sound. This will help you get a better idea of how to dial in the right settings for any effect.
You will learn how the pedal placement of each effect changes your tone. Instead of blindly following rules saying you should always put X pedal before Y pedal, you’ll hear exactly what happens when you break those rules. Sometimes breaking the rules gives you better results!
By the end of Part 1, you will have a thorough understanding of the range of guitar effects available and how they all relate to each other.
Part 2 digs deep into different types of clean and drive tones and walks you through how to set those tones up and control them. You can follow along with your own pedals or you can use software such as AmpliTube, Guitar Rig or BIAS FX. You will see exactly how the tones are set up, why they’re set up that way and how to tweak the tones to suit your style.

If you’re looking to create a supplemental income or full time income, very few businesses can match the income potential of a direct mail or post card business.
There are lots of MAJOR advantages such as:
- Direct mail has one of the highest returns on investment (only a 1% difference when compared to social media!)
- However, unlike social media you have your prospects undivided attention…
- In a time when others are using ineffective online marketing strategies there is far less competition with effective direct mail systems…
- With the right approach you can power-boost your business when you combine direct mail and online marketing…
- 57% of people have reported receiving mail makes them feel more valued…
- 73% of people say the prefer direct mail advertising to other methods…
So Why Do So Many People Struggle?
My name is Amanda Wray. I’ve been involved with direct mail for over 6 years. When I started my first direct mail business I had no audience, no online following, no friends and family who were remotely interested in starting their own business and I still managed to generate over $100,000 in my first 14 months.
Don’t get me wrong, I had my fair share of struggles, challenges and was completely on my own.
So why do some people experience the full potential and benefits of their Direct Mail business while other’s completely struggle to get any results?
There’s 3 main reasons:
Not Knowing What To Do – This is by far the biggest challenge people face. It’s not that people are lazy or are not willing to do the work, it’s just a matter of not knowing what to do. If you’re not sure where to start or have more questions than directions it’s extremely challenging to get your business off the ground.
No Audience – This is exactly how I started and without knowing where to find people who are looking for what you have to offer you won’t be able to find customers, business partners or interested prospects.
Lack of Funds – One of the main reasons people start a Direct Mail or Post Card based business is to change their financial situation. If you spend every dime you have to get started and run out of money to fund your advertising or buy the resources you need, then you’re business is dead in the water. Of course, there’s a much better way to do this than relying on an endless money pit that requires a massive budget to keep growing.
Using Ineffective Company Resources – This is something that very few people talk about and it’s also the one factor that every successful Entrepreneur I know uses.
So why don’t people talk about this? Well, maybe because it makes your company A LOT of money, however, that doesn’t do much for your bank account.
If you’re using the same old company resources that every other business owner in your opportunity is using then you’re just another face in the crowd yelling “me too”. At the core of your business is YOU. So why would you use resources that brand the opportunity instead of using resources that brand (and sell) YOU.
No, you don’t have your face all over YouTube or do crazy things to get people’s attention… but you do need to be at the core of your business. People do business with other people and when others are able to see that you’re a real person, with a real business that offers a real opportunity… half the battle is won.
